Bill Welder - Board Co-Chair
Bill Welder has lived in Kelowna for most of his life. He married his wife, Gert in 1972 and they raised their three children in Kelowna. They now enjoy being grandparents to seven grandchildren. He currently works as a Power Engineer in Merritt, BC., and brings practical and managerial skills and experience to his position on the board. Bill became a believer in Christ in March, 1973. He has been an active member of this congregation ever since, serving on the Board of Trustees on and off over the years. Bill has also served as a volunteer in many roles with Bridges to New Life Society. Bill looks forward to serving the Lord in the capacity of a member of the Board of Trustees.
Wilfred Wollin - Board Co-Chair
Wilfred (Fred) and his wife Wilma moved to Kelowna in 1992 and since then they both have been active in a number of ministries at the Mission Springs Church of God. Fred has held various leadership roles in music ministry (brass group and church choir), youth work and church board. Scriptures that guides his life are, 1 Peter 4:10 “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another”, and Ephesians 6:7 “Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people." Since 2012 Fred has been the church board chair and participating in the music ministry. He also is a local and district leader with the Gideon’s International in Canada, where the mission is to share God’s word so that people will accept God’s free gift of salvation.
Christine Cockings - Board Member
David Harms - Board Member
David Harms was born and raised in Kelowna, BC and loves his Okanagan. He went to university at Simon Fraser University in the Lower Mainland and then returned to the Okanagan and has worked for the Government of Canada as an Accountant for the last 20 years. In 2006 David got married to Julianna and they now have 3 Boys, Cedrick, Cody and Dalen. David loves church and has a drive for things to be fair and law abiding. With his experience in his Government job he brings a unique financial and legal view to the board.
Evadene Lovell - Board Member
Evadene Lovell was born and raised in a Christian environment in Barbados, where, in her youth she was involved with the Christian Ministry as a Sunday School Teacher, a Kids Cadet Director and a Youth Leader for several years. She moved to Canada in 1993 and landed in Kelowna, which she now calls home. Evadene works as a program manager for a community living organization; her well-developed people and managerial skills and compassionate heart are an asset to the work of the Board of Trustees. Evadene is passionate about her relationship with the Lord and she is eager to share about the many ways God is working in her life. She is a true prayer warrior and surrounds any task she undertakes with prayer. She is active in Children’s Ministry, Music ministry and is open to any service opportunity God puts before her.
Dennis Mutschmann - Board Member
Dennis was born in Chilliwack, BC. He moved to Edmonton to learn the trade of machinist. While there, he met Sandra, married, had a son and then moved to Kelowna in 1993, where four more children were added to the Mutschmann family. He has worked in the same machine shop since moving here, and uses his God-given talents and acquired skills not only to benefit his employer, but applies them to fixing and building things for family, friends, and strangers. Dennis’ spiritual gift is the gift of service: he shows his love for God and for those around him by serving them as best he knows how. He has previously served two terms on the Board of Trustees, is involved in many aspects of the music ministry, loves driving the church bus and has been an enthusiastic volunteer at Vacation Bible School and Youth Retreats.
