Ed Carter - Board Chair
Greetings in Christ. My wife and I recently moved to
Kelowna from Surrey, B.C. We have been married for 48
years . Our son and daughter and their families reside in
the Okanagan and we have 2 granddaughters and 2
grandsons. Praise God, all are serving the Lord. My wife
Eileen and I met at the University of Victoria. After
graduating in 1974 with BSc in Biology I pursued a
career with Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Eileen, a
career in education. I started a new career in 1980 with
the B.C. Corrections Branch and over the next
twenty-eight years I became involved variously with offender programming and post-release planning as B.C. Parole Coordinator for the Interior Region. To this end I worked closely with the prison chaplaincy and on site drug and alcohol counselors. I retired in 2008. I have served previously on a church board and have been involved in various church ministries. My desire is to serve Christ both in His Church and in the community.
Max DeBeeson - Board Member
Hi, my name is Max DeBeeson. I am a retired pastor and my wife and I retired from 33 years in the pastorate. We now make our home in Kelowna and enjoy our church here at Mission Springs Church Of God. We have two daughters, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. I play the cello and enjoy participating in our music program. I’m into my first term on the Board Of Trustees. Hopefully, my experience on church and secular boards will be helpful in serving our church in this way.

I was saved by Lord when I was 17 coming from a non-Christian family. That radical change in my life caused some consequences which led me into a deeper relationship with God.
I am married to my wife Lana and God blessed us with three amazing children, who are now building their own families. After moving from county to country we all finally settled down in Kelowna. In all our journeys we always were with the Church of God. Mission Springs Church of God is our spiritual home, and we're happy to be here.
